Marching onward....

 This cat appears to have dropped out of the March...sleeping sweetly at the foot of my computer chair..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   I am so glad to hear your news, Andrew!!  I wondered if that might not be the problem..I've known a few who used that CPap machine and it works miracles...once they get used to it.  lol  xoxoxoxoxo
  I worked around the house as much as I could today.  I finished taking the evergreen garlands down out on the front porch rails, and I swept down the porch and sidewalk.  I worked in here a little more, taking all the stuff off the walls and finding the paint (yup--buttercup yellow).  I cleaned the chicken coop and did a few other little chores.  All this was done hobbling around because my knee is hurting pretty good today and I have that sciatic pinch going on too...wagghh!!!  Must have done it kneeling down and cleaning my sisters bathtub and helping her in and out of the shower yesterday. Hurts like the dickens.  Lucky me though...tomorrow I am going to a friends for a hot stones massage.  It'll be a Godsend.
  I made waffles and ham steaks and apples fried in butter for supper.  The minute I was finished eating, I was ready to sleep. lol.. Sure was good though.  I make my waffles from scratch, of course, with buttermilk and melted butter and whipped egg whites folded in at the end. They are so good...I couldn't think of anything easier to make, although I have to tell you....I ran down to our little market in town for a couple of H&B  Ham steaks. It's the single best ham I have ever eaten.  It's produced locally and just magnificent.  It isn't cheap, but I had no idea what I was doing when I asked for 2 ham steaks about a half inch thick.  It was almost 10 dollars!!!!!  LOL....I thought I was getting about five bucks worth. I bought them anyway, and when I got home and opened the butcher paper, and realized that 1 would have been plenty....they were huge. So, I cut one in half and re-wrapped the other one, for use at a later date. sheesh....
  I made a really great batch of juice this morning....carrot, celery, orange, pineapple and apples.  I drank a big old glass of it and have enough for me and the Irishman both to have a glass for breakfast tomorrow.  And did I tell you??    The chickens are LOVING the pulp!!  I take it out to the coop and they fall all over themselves getting to it.  Sometimes I keep the pulp and bake it into a loaf of bread too...adds more fiber and probably a few nutrients. I gotta tell ya, though--this Jack LaLanne power juicer really juices the heck out of everything that goes in there.  There seems to be about half the amount of pulp that came out of my other [dead] juicer...
  I have some things I need to get posted on Craig's List and I keep not doing it. No particular reason, I'm just stalling for some reason.  I need to get that done.  Sigh....
  Funny how I am feeling very [en] lightened by the removal of junk in this room.  It's been a mess, and I'm really making some headway.  I'm excited to see how it's going to turn out. Hopefully getting one room done will motivate me to get some other little jobs done around here that need doing.  That's how I usually work...it helps get the ball rolling.  I can accomplish some major stuff...once I get going.  That's always the problem for me. But once I'm motivated--LOOK OUT !!   lol
  Trying to re-establish a decent sleep pattern too...and get to bed by midnight or shortly thereafter.  Actually making it some nights.  lol
  Let me leave you with this thought:
    "There is no great difference in the reality of one country or another, because it is always people you meet everywhere.  They may look different or be dressed differently,or may have a different education or position. But they are all the same. They are all people to be loved.  They are all hungry for love."
Out and about a little today...
It was almost balmy at 39 degrees today.  I got all excited and got showered and dressed and went out into the world.   It was pretty exciting out there, I have to tell you.  lol
I found the Irishman 2 very nice pairs of jeans at the Goodwill for 4 dollars apiece. They look almost new. They are  for work pants, and  the way he goes through them it's a blessing I am able to find them.  I also picked up 2 books for me to read, as I have finished the last 4 I got. (By the way...I read Clive Cussler's Arctic Drift.  I really like the movies I have seen made from his books (Sahara) and I really like his writing style.) These new ones  are a book by a Canadian writer named Anne Marie MacDonald called Fall On Your Knees  and another one called The Thirteenth Tale, by Diane Setterfield, a British author. I am looking forward to reading them both, but first I have to read a book loaned to me today by a new friend called Mutant Message Down Under.  Not sure what it is, except that it had a powerful impact on my friend.   I'll read it quickly and get it back to her.
  I bought a Jack LaLane juicer today, barely used, for 50 bucks.  A deal!  Looked them up and they retail for around $199.00.   I look forward to getting back to juicing.  I felt really good this summer, replacing 1 or 2 meals a day with juice. AND I lost over 25 pounds. (Don't worry though...I found most of  it again).  sigh...
Twisted my knee, slipping on ice getting out of the car this afternoon. It's not too swollen and hurts a little. I don't think it's anything serious. Achy...and I took some Aleve.  We'll see how it feels tomorrow.
 Thankfully, we have no plans for this weekend, save the District meeting on Sunday afternoon.  Otherwise, it's nothing but R&R.  I am looking forward to some time at home with the Irishman.  And the menagerie, of course.
Alrighty. I am off to bed. Didn't get there last night until almost 3:30 AM...that is NOT happening tonight!!
Oh...Sandman....here I come......
Mild Mannered Monday
I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open...
Didn't sleep last night but for maybe an hour and a half. And then I had weird dreams the whole time. I didn't get a chance to nap this morning after I got back. I cleaned the house, and performed assorted and sundry housewifely duties before getting dressed and heading off to coffee with my friend. Talked to several sponsees, made some plans, and generally bustled off to my "date".
I bought a juicer, got one on sale for 50 bucks. It's a powerful one with a large feed tube and pitcher. I can't wait to fire that baby up in the morning. lol
I have to attend a noon meeting and give a sponsee her 12 year coin. I have to get my nails done. It'll be a little tight...then there's class tomorrow night. I really wanted to go to a speaker meeting and group anniversary bbq potluck, but I guess I can't do it. Man--times like these I HATE not having a second car. I have always had a car, since I was 17. This sucks.
OKay--blessings. Gratitude. sheesh...
Grateful to be sober, as usual. Grateful to have a place to blog and read other people who are travelling the road that I'm on.
ESPECIALLY grateful that the poison ivy is drying up and going away. I am dealing with minimal itching!!
Grateful for friendships.
Grateful for family.
Looking forward to tomorrow.....and going to sleep in my big comfy sleigh bed now!! Blessings are everywhere, when I open my eyes and my heart and just LOOK.
