And you are right about them and Big Pharma. I think I will try the baby aspirin and fish oil route. I am seeing my orthopedic on TUesday to see about having the second knee replacement ASAP..I am in serious pain with it and the first one is so wonderful that it makes the pain even worse. lol I have suffered with this stuff way too long. The first knee was the worst...doc said (when we looked at the xrays) My God, how are you even walking?? I said--like a pirate. The knee doesn't bend at all. They were both severe cases of osteoarthritis and bone degeneration.

PS--love the pics on your blog.Akanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00513632434353119491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448246538491495908.post-5997081655628981792015-12-16T16:40:26.077-08:002015-12-16T16:40:26.077-08:00I have never heard of anyone else using Saint Anth...I have never heard of anyone else using Saint Anthony besides my family - glad you found the keys.

A side note about coumadin - we finally had a doctor that told us the truth - if you are eating a regular size portion of one of the vegetables with Vitamin K in it - it is ok to continue that habit - it is when the Vitamin K levels are erratic - large servings one day - no servings for 3 or 4 days - that it messes with the clotting levels. If you are completely off Vitamin K vegetables I'd start with a small helping every couple days for a week - then increase the servings to every other day and then stay on that schedule - we found that we felt better being able to have our Vitamin K veggies than we did without - and the clotting levels were fine with just minor adjustments. We didn't pig out on huge helpings of the vegetables but maintained a balance of the same amounts and had no troubles. Both my husband and I are off coumadin completely - and glad to be - as it is a dangerous drug even when needed. Did you know it is the same ingredient as rat poison - only in a lesser amount. We have opted to go with fish oil supplement and two baby aspirin a day to keep our clotting under control - no problems - at all - and we've been doing this for almost a year now. If there were a surgery in our future we would have to stop the fish oil and the baby aspirin for a week to control bleeding during surgery. Good luck - and have a small serving of green vegetables if you want to. Also research which vegetables actually have a lot of Vitamin K. And of course the doctors waved their arms in the air and cried out that we would die of a stroke if we stopped coumadin - the studies we read showed that the stats the doctors were quoting were dreadfully high compared to the truth - they had been tutored by Big Pharma and actually told to intimidate patients into taking the drugs recommended by Big Pharma. When she was 6 months old she skidded down a snowy bank in front of truck. she was pretty banged up and had minute fractures in many of her vertebrae. She was on drug induced (lol) bedrest for 8 weeks and she and I really bonded. She was my little baby...

I agree about St Anthony. And I'm the same way about losing things when I'm especially stressed. Oh well..Ce La Vie...we'll have the party in the dead of winter in February around the Irishman's birthday. We'll all probably NEED a party then anyway. lolAkanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00513632434353119491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448246538491495908.post-8156176893407495992015-12-16T10:37:05.676-08:002015-12-16T10:37:05.676-08:00I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Sounds like too much going on and too much stress - I always lose my keys when things turn chaotic. I think St. Anthony should be the Saint of Slow Down and Smell the Roses. Glad you found your keys and I think cancelling your party is the best thing you can do for yourself. So sad about your latest fur baby. I still think about Roxie now and then, he was my favorite little guy. I think you did the right thing to cancel.
